The advantage of these printers is that you can take them with you when you go on vacation or to a party. You can print images and quickly share your photos with family and friends. These printers are battery-powered and connect to your phone using Bluetooth or simple wireless connections. They fit in your back pocket, so you don’t have the hassle of bringing an extra bag!

Compact Desktop Printers
These compact printers are specifically designed to be simple to set up and use. They print on larger 4×6 inch sheets and are suitable for framing or adding to your photo album.
The best thing about the ones I’ve listed below is that they all use an ink technology that comes out dry, and the colors will not fade for decades.

Canon SELPHY CP1300 Compact Photo Printer
Overview
The SELPHY CP1300 is a pretty cool printer. Rated “Editor’s Choice” by PC Mag, you can see Canon’s printing heritage in the quality of the build and the exceptional features. This printer packs all the bells and whistles of a much larger unit into a tiny footprint.
It uses dye-sublimation technology at 300 dpi to create dazzling prints that Canon claims will last for 100 years. You can print on 2.1″ x 2.1″ stickers, 4″ x 6″ postcards, or use the photobooth mode to print multiple images in a strip.
The CP1300 supports WiFi printing from up to 5 devices. You can print wirelessly using Apple AirPrint, the Canon PRINT mobile app, or wireless PictBridge. The printer also supports printing from your computer, a USB device, or an SD card.
The printer features a 3.2″ Tilt-up LCD Touch Screen so you can review and edit your photos before printing them. This is very handy when printing from an SD card or USB stick.
All-in-all, this is my favorite of the small printers.

Full-Size Desktop Photo Printers
If you want to create larger prints, you’ll need to set up a full-sized desktop printer. This type of printer is more along the lines of the types of printers you would find in an office setting, but the ones I’ve chosen below are focused on making it simple to print photos from your phone, computer, or camera.
These printers also can allow you to print photos from your iPhone using various types of photo paper. You can experiment with creativity by choosing the right paper to bring out the best in your pictures. For different looks, try glossy, satin, or even metallic papers.
Finally, these printers will not only print your photos but also provide scanning, copying, and regular text printing to any device on your network. So if you need a printer for your home or home office, one of these would be a great option.
Canon PIXMA TR4520

Another interesting feature that Canon has included with this printer is the “Message In Print” app. The app allows you to incorporate secret messages—text, animations, music, video links, and other creative enhancements—directly within the picture. You can then view the concealed message in the photo using your phone’s camera.
The TR4520 also has all the regular features you would expect from a small office printer, auto-duplexing printing, a scanner with 20 sheet document feeder, 100 sheet paper tray. So you can use this not only for printing your photos, but also for your home, business, or school needs.
